Milano Film Network is the organization created in 2013 with the contribution of the Fondazione Cariplo which unites the experience and the resources of seven film festivals held in Milan – Festival del Cinema Africano d’Asia e America Latina, Filmmaker Festival, Invideo, Milano Film Festival, Mix Festival di Cinema LGBTQ+ e Cultura Queer, Sguardi Altrove Film Festival and Sport Movies & Tv Fest – with a view to comparing and sharing organizational, productive and experimental experiences, collecting the needs of the individual situations and becoming the authoritative referent for the whole of the film and TV sector in the area.
MFN aims to be an inclusive project, not only of the operators of the sector, but also of institutions and socio-economic players. Recognizing the value of the cinema as an art form and as a productive project which generates positive fall-out over a wide urban fabric, Milano Film Network organise and promote a calendar of programming activities, the creation of formative and media education paths and an industry project, which includes the development workshop In Progress MFN, the support fund for Italian films in post-production of L’Atelier MFN and the professional days Milano Industry Days – MID by MFN.
